The wings suggest freedom, but also responsibility—the knowledge that every departure carries something of the place it leaves behind. The deep blue palette evokes water as both refuge and threshold. It is a place where grief, identity and memory dissolve into one another, becoming impossible to separate. Rather than depicting a single moment, the painting gathers fragments of different lives and emotional states into one shared space. The work asks what we choose to carry with us, what we release, and whether either is ever truly possible.
